September 2024 in Charleston, SC, is packed with dog-friendly events that both you and your furry friend can enjoy. Whether you're a local or just visiting, here’s a roundup of some top dog-friendly activities happening around the city.


1. Small Dog Meet-Up

Date: September 1, 2024

Location: James Island County Park

Time: 10-11:30am

Bring your little pup out for some off-leash, tail-wagging fun with other pint-size pooches to the small dog area of James Island County Park.


2. Dog Day Afternoon

Date: September 8, 2024

Location: Wannamaker County Park

Time: 10-12pm or 1-3pm

Tickets are $15 per dog in advance. $20 at the door, if available. Owners are free with their pets. Space is limited.


3. Paws on the Patio

Date: September 12, 2024

Location: Burton's Grill and Bar

Time: 6-8pm

Bring your furry friend for an exclusive happy hour at Burton's Grill in Mount Pleasant. Admission is $30 per person and includes 2 drink tickets plus an appetizer buffet. Proceeds benefit the Charleston Animal Society.


4. Lowcountry Dog's Bark in the Park

Date: September 14, 2024

Location: Ashley River Park

Time: 1-4pm

Free, dog-friendly and kid-friendly event with food trucks, local vendors, adoptable dogs and dog activity center with a lure and agility course.


5. ReptiCon

Date: September 28-29, 2024

Location: Exchange Park, Cultural Arts Building

Time: Saturday 9-4pm, Sunday 10-4pm

Attendees can bring up to 2 animals to the event, as long as their pets are in good health and under control at all times. Ticket prices vary.
