As our vibrant city welcomes the warmth of May, it's time to unleash the fun for both you and your furry friend! Charleston offers a plethora of dog-friendly events that promise tail-wagging excitement and paw-some memories. Whether you're a local pet parent or visiting with your four-legged companion, here are some must-attend events to mark on your calendar this May.


1.Tuesdays Dog Day at the Joe

  • Date: Tuesdays in May

  • Location: Riverdogs Baseball Stadium

  • Description: On Tuesdays, the Riverdogs home baseball games are "Dog Day" so your pup can tag along to enjoy some sunshine, snacks and baseball!

2.May the Fourth Be With You 5K Beer Run

  • Date: May 4th

  • Location: Edmund's Oast Brewing Co. and Taproom

  • Description: Embark on an epic journey through the cosmos in this Star Wars-themed 5k fun run, where the force is strong, and the excitement is even stronger! This event promises a day filled with intergalactic fun, fitness, and local craft beer! Dogs and strollers are welcome!

3. Animals, Arts and Automobiles

  • Date: May 12th

  • Location: Founders Hall at Charles Towne Landing

  • Description: Join us from 11-3pm for a great time! Peruse the vendors, bid in an art auction, check out the car show, and adorable adoptable animals from local rescues!

4. Lowcountry Dog's May The Dogs Be With You

  • Date: May 18th

  • Location: Ashley River Park Site

  • Description: Join Lowcountry Dog Magazine, and Pet Supplies Plus for Star Wars character appearances, adoptable dogs, food trucks, dog activity area including a lure course, local vendors and dog businesses

5. Push-ups For Pups

  • Date: May 18th

  • Location: Towne Center, Mount Pleasant (across from Barnes & Noble)

    • Description: Join us for an all-levels outdoor strength/HIIT workout benefiting local animal rescue Southern Tails For Precious Paws! **This class is free, but cash or venmo donations directly to Southern Tails for Precious Paws are strongly encouraged.

Whether you're running a 5K, perusing local vendors, or enjoying a Riverdogs baseball game, there's no shortage of tail-wagging fun to be had. So leash up your furry friend, mark your calendar, and get ready to make memories that will last a lifetime in this beloved Southern city.
