Summer is in full swing, and there's no better time to get outside with your four-legged best friend. Whether your pup loves meeting new canine companions, exploring local markets, or cheering on the home team, Charleston has plenty of pet-friendly activities to enjoy throughout July. Grab the leash, pack plenty of water (for both of you!), and check out these tail-wagging events.
1. Dog Day Tuesdays with the Charleston RiverDogs
Date: Select Tuesdays (check the RiverDogs schedule for participating games)
Time: Evening times vary
Location: Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park
Select Tuesday home games throughout the season are designated as Dog Day Tuesdays, where fans can bring their leashed pups to enjoy the game. Dog owners will need to complete a waiver and purchase a Dog Day pass before entering.
2. 4th of July Pre-Firework PAWty
Date: 7/4/26
Time: 10am
Location: Broken Leash Dog Park & Bar
This all-day celebration includes off-leash play, festive drinks, patriotic décor, and plenty of opportunities for your pup to burn off energy before the evening festivities.
3. Reggae Nights Summer Concert
Date: 7/10/26
Time: 7:30pm
Location: James Island County Park
Grab a blanket, pack a picnic chair, and bring your leashed pup for an evening of live reggae music!
4. Hops & Homes Adoption Event
Date: 7/11/26
Time: 1pm
Location: Edisto River Brewing Co.
Enjoy local craft beer, live music, food trucks, and meet adoptable dogs from Charleston Animal Society. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome to attend with their owners.
5. Dog Days of Summer 5K
Date: 7/18/26
Time: 8am
Location: The Citadel Track
The Dog Days of Summer 5K welcomes runners, walkers, dogs, and strollers for a fun community event benefiting local organizations.
Charleston offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy summer with your dog, from baseball games and farmers markets to dog parks and community events.July is full of reasons to get outside together!
