Local Barktastic Events April 2024




Calling all dog lovers and their furry companions! April in Charleston, SC is shaping up to be a paw-some month filled with exciting events tailor-made for you and your four-legged friend. From outdoor adventures to social gatherings, there's something for every doggo to enjoy!


1. Paws on the Patio

  • Date: April 11th

  • Location: Burton's Grill and Bar

  • Description: Bring your furry friend for an exclusive happy hour at Burton's Grill in Mount Pleasant from 6-8. Admission is $30 per person and includes 2 drink tickets plus an appetizer buffet, as well as a party favor for your pup from Hairy Winston Pet Boutique! Proceeds benefit the Charleston Animal Society. Get ready for a barktastic night out!

2. Barks 'N Brews

  • Date: April 12th

  • Location: Frothy Beard Brewery

  • Description: Join us for the 2nd annual Barks 'N Brews! It will be a fun night out with your furry friend and all proceeds benefit Pet Helpers.

3. Lowcountry Dogapalooza

  • Date: April 13th

  • Location: Hanahan Ampitheatre

  • Description: Lowcountry Dogapalooza is a FREE festival with live music and adoptable dogs from more than 20 local rescues and shelters. It will be a tail-wagging good time!

4. Small Dog Meet-Up

  • Date: April 14th and 28th

  • Location: James Island County Park

  • Description: Bring your little pup out to the James Island County Park for some off-leash fun with other pint-sized pooches. The small dog area of the dog park is fenced off from the large dogs section. Admission to the park is $2. Get ready for a pawsome party!

5. 5K Fun Run + Charles Towne Fermentory

  • Date: April 27th

  • Location: Charles Towne Fermentory

  • Description: Lace up your running shoes - we've mapped out a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at this awesome taproom in Avondale. Run, walk or jog before celebrating with a locally-made craft beverage at the finish line. Dogs and strollers welcome!

With so many dog-friendly events happening, there's no shortage for you and your furry friend. Whether you're exploring the great outdoors, sipping drinks at a dog-friendly bar, or playing in the park, these events offer something for every canine and their human companion. So, grab your leash, pack some treats, and get ready for a month filled with tail-wagging fun!
