Spring is starting to bloom in the Lowcountry, and March is one of the BEST months to get outside with your pup in Charleston. From lively festivals to relaxed patio hangouts and play-date meetups, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the season with your furry sidekick.
Here are some tail-wagging events happening around town this March.
1. Yappy Hour at Ellis Creek Fish Camp
Date: March 5th and 12th
Time: 3-6pm
Location: 1243 Harbor View Rd
Enjoy waterfront dining while supporting a great cause — a portion of proceeds benefits the Charleston Animal Society. It’s a relaxed way to socialize with other dog lovers and let your pup enjoy the spring air.
2. 5K Fun Run
Date: March 7th
Time: 11am
Location: Over the Horizon Brewery
After the run, participants can relax with drinks and enjoy the dog-friendly brewery atmosphere, which is perfect for active dog parents.
3. Palmetto Park Jam and Pup Adoptions
Date: March 8th
Time: 11am
Location: Palmetto Island County Park
Kick back, tune in, and let the good vibes roll at Palmetto Park Jam! Join us for an easygoing afternoon of live music, local flavor, and Lowcountry charm.
4. St. Patrick's Day Block Party and Parade
Date: March 14th
Time: 12-5pm
Location: Park Place East, North Charleston
The celebration will feature live music, street vending and fare from Olde North Charleston restaurants, a Kid’s Zone, and more. The party, parade and parking are free to the public.
5. Paws in the Park
Date: March 21st
Time: 12-4pm
Location: Brittlebank Park
The highlight of March is Paws in the Park, hosted by the Charleston Animal Society. This is the largest animal-friendly event in South Carolina and an absolute must for dog lovers.
6. Paws and Pucks with the SC Stingrays
Date: March 22nd
Time: 3pm
Location: North Charleston Coliseum
Bring your furry friend with you for a hockey game! There will be fun for the whole family with specialty jerseys, character appearances, and furry friends as the Stingrays take the ice.
