A new year means fresh starts, big goals, and… dogs who fully intend to break every resolution by February. While your pup may not be planning to hit the gym or quit snacks, they can kick off the new year with some tail-wagging goals of their own!

1. Walk More, Sniff Longer

This year, your dog promises to stop and smell everything. Hydrants, trees, mystery patches of grass, etc. Longer walks mean more exercise, mental stimulation, and a very happy pup.

2. Be (Slightly) Better on the Leash

Your dog’s goal isn’t perfection—just fewer sudden squirrel-powered sprints. Practicing leash manners makes walks safer and more enjoyable for everyone involved. Progress may be slow, but hey, it’s a resolution, not a miracle.

3. Make New Fur-iends

Whether it’s at the park, on neighborhood walks, or during pack walks, dogs resolve to be more social in the new year. New friends mean new smells, new play styles, and a whole lot of tail wagging.

4. Master the Art of Naps

A well-rested dog is a happy dog. This year’s goal? Longer naps, cozier beds, and prime sun-spot lounging. After all, balancing activity with rest is key to a healthy pup lifestyle.

5. Keep Paws and Bodies Healthy

From regular walks to staying active year-round, dogs resolve to keep their bodies moving and their paws in tip-top shape.

6. Be Kinder to the Vacuum Cleaner

Okay, maybe this one’s a stretch. But every dog can try to be a little braver when the vacuum comes out—or at least bark at it less.

7. Appreciate Their Humans (Even More)

Dogs already love us unconditionally, but in the new year they vow to show it with extra cuddles, happy greetings, and enthusiastic tail wags every time you come home.

A Resolution You Can Keep Together

The best resolutions are the ones you and your dog can tackle as a team. More walks, more playtime, and more quality time together make for a healthier, happier year all around. Here’s to a new year filled with muddy paws, wagging tails, and walks worth sniffing twice!
