Bathing your pup doesn’t have to feel like wrestling a soapy tornado. Keep it light, keep it simple, and follow these bite‑sized pointers for a splash‑tastic wash day.

1. Prep a “Bath Buffet”

Lay everything within arm’s reach — shampoo, cup/sprayer, two towels, treats, non‑slip mat. Nothing ruins the vibe faster than sprinting across the house mid‑bath for

a towel.

2. Brush Before You Splash

Knots tighten when wet. Two minutes of brushing saves ten minutes of detangling later (and a lot of dog‑side‑eye).

3. Goldilocks Water

Not hot, not cold—just comfy lukewarm. Wrist‑test the temp; if it feels pleasant to you, your pup will approve.

4. The Peanut‑Butter Distraction

Smear a spoonful of PB (or cheese spread) on the tub wall. Instant canine statue. You wash, they lick, everyone wins.

5. Dilute for Less Drama

Squirt dog‑safe shampoo into a squeeze bottle, add warm water (about 1 : 4 ratio), shake, and apply. It spreads faster and rinses out easier—bye‑bye leftover suds itch.

6. Teach the “Shake” Cue

When your dog naturally shakes, say “shake!” and praise. Soon you can ask for a shake inside the tub with a towel shield—goodbye, hallway tidal wave.

7. Celebrate the Zoomies

Post‑bath zoomies are normal stress relief. Clear the path, toss a dry towel, and let your freshly‑washed rocket ship do its victory laps.

Brush, lukewarm water, PB distraction, and plenty of praise—that’s the secret sauce. Keep it upbeat, keep the towels handy, and bath time turns from battle royale to five‑minute spa date. Now go forth and conquer the grime—your couch (and nose) will thank you!
